I am joining other paper artists for this lovely exhibition looking out on to the Garden’s plant collection.  My work will be looking at dispersal, patterns and inherited plant knowledge.  My work as a gardener and interest in herbal medicines make this a fascinating environment to exhibit in.   Please note an entry fee applies but it is well worth it!

What a delightful little town!  What a quality space Jacs Collins has made of theGALLERY!  I am showing cyanotypes specially made for the exhibition, along with other artists local to Shropshire.  The opening of the exhibition on 16th February coincides with the Bishops Castle Arts Festival (16th – 19th February) and also the launch of the new home of theGALLERY.  Shropshire has its fair share of weather fronts and these create an ever changing visual landscape that this exhibition will explore.  For further information visit: www.thegallerybc.co.uk and www.bishopscastleartsfestival.co.uk

I will be joining other local contemporary makers, designers and artists at the amazing fourteenth century building that is home to the Boston Tea Party, 13 High Street, Salisbury.  You will find us on the first floor where, away from the bustle, you will see some choice and unique gifts:  fashion, textiles, illustration, art and photography are amongst the many items on offer.  A perfect place to get a hot drink and be inspired.  As the event co-incides with Salisbury’s Late Night Shopping season, the times are 5.30 – 9pm.

I am crossing the border into Somerset to join nine other accomplished artists to be part of Blue II.  The theme is inspired by the 18th century dyers’ woad recipe book from Wallbridge Mill in Frome.  My cyanotype work at Rook Lane has been made specifically for the exhibition. I have used some graphic elements connected with textiles to contrast with the flower pieces and have also incorporated some of my grandmother’s lace in the process. Rich silk hangings are another vehicle for the prussian blue prints, as well as the blutubes, displaying the work outside the format of the frame.  It promises to be a very special show.

Hours are 10.30 – 5.30 Monday – Saturday, closing at 4.30 on Sunday with more details either in the brochure or online at www.wvat.co.uk   I shall be performing a poetry reading by the cafe on Weds. 1st June at 3pm.  It is a free event but please be diplomatic if using the cafe’s chairs and buy a drink.

The Wylye Valley Art Trail is now very definitely on the horizon and I am trying to focus on framing and labelling, plus give enough room to look at the poems I will be reading.  All very exciting but will be very, very glad when it is up and can enjoy meeting and talking to visitors.
